"Collosus” Rhinoceros

Rhinos can be found in various habitats across Africa from open savannahs to dense woodlands:

. There are five species of rhinoceros in the world, the two most recognised are     the black and white.

. The white rhino is actually grey in colour and like the black rhino has two horns.

. Rhinos are herbivores grazing on a diet of grasses and shrubs

. They have poor eyesight but a great sense of smell and hearing

. The closest relationship between rhinos exists between a mother and her calf, this can last from 2-4 years

. All rhinos have three toes on each foot  

 

. Rhinos will wallow in mud to protect their skin from sunburn and insect bites
